Take a beautiful stretch of seaside trail running in La Tranche-sur-Mer (Vendée) every March since 2002. Choose among 4, 8.5, 15 (including a night edition) and 22 km, and let yourself be carried along trails between beaches, dunes and forests, skirting Longeville-sur-Mer and the Grouin du Cou headland. After the effort, explore the surroundings and the nautical activities or the Île de Ré, for a sporty and exotic experience.

It's in La Tranche-sur-Mer in the Vendée department that it all happens! "Les Galopades Tranchaises" is a seaside trail race held in March since 2002 (the same year as the transition from francs to the Euro). Needless to say, that date is old! The weather is usually quite chilly this time of year in Pays de la Loire but it’s totally tolerable! Go for the Finishers' sprint. 🏇🏽
The program is full; you just need to pick your distance. On the menu: a 4km, an 8.5 km, an 15 km, an 15 km that takes place at night and a 22 km. It’s going to be a fast one! 👌
No matter the route, your chosen course will dazzle you 👀. Don’t start at a gallop right away; you might miss things, so start with a gentle jog. You’ll run along the beautiful beaches of Pays de la Loire 🏖️, cross dunes and forests, alternating between wide avenues and narrower trails 🌿. Next, you’ll explore the charming town of Longeville-sur-Mer on the wide-sand beach des Conches. Then you’ll venture into the Longeville National Forest before heading toward the Grouin du Cou Point. You’ll find the course lively and full of charm, letting you discover nearby spots around La Tranche. 😍
Once you’ve completed your trail in La Tranche-sur-Mer, there are plenty of places to visit, including highly regarded options. Île de Ré and its wonders are just across the water for a family adventure. If you still want to burn energy, water activities are the stars of the area with surfing or even land sailing. Then you can explore the Poitevin Marsh, the Georges Clemenceau House and Garden or the Bay of La Trench. In any case, you’ll have plenty to do!
