When the sunny season shows up 👃, hop on your trusty steed and ride down the legendary slopes of Bordeaux. The roads and trails through the famous Gironde vineyards will welcome you with open vines and show you a kaleidoscope of colors (mostly red and white 🍷). But hey, even though wine specialties are a regional pride, you’re not here for that 🤪. As a high-middlelevel athlete, you know that alcohol excess is dangerous for your health and should be consumed in moderation 🫡. In this Bordeaux edition of the GravelMan Series circuit, you’re heading toward Bordeaux, the Gironde capital, the great cousin of Toulouse 🌸. You know, that quirky habit of wanting to call everything a "chocolatine". Anyway, on your route you’ll encounter the Garonne, the Dordogne, and many iconic towns of Nouvelle-Aquitaine 🏙️. Organizers have prepared, as usual, 5 events of distance and elevation for all levels, to be completed in gravel or road bike mode: 60 km and 800 mD+, 120 km and 1 800 mD+, 200 km and 2 500 mD+, 350 km and 4 000 mD+ as well as the weekend’s big star, the 600 km version and 6 000 mD+. If you opt for one of the two longest routes of the edition, we hope you have a little more than one day ahead ☀️, because this isn’t the kind of challenge that finishes in a few hours. Here, we count more in days 📅. In any case, whatever you choose, you won’t get bored. You’ll need to stay awake if you want to finish on time 👀. Besides, the events run autonomously: without assistance, you might know your bike better than your best friend by the end of the weekend 😬. For scenery, the Lot-et-Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne departments are renowned for their rolling vineyards 🍇 and their lush fields. Since routes aren’t revealed until 10 days before the race 🏃, we can’t promise anything, but maybe if organizers are playful, routes will run along the coast? After all, there’s only 70 km separating Bordeaux from Arcachon (and its famous oyster basin...).

When the pedal strokes become only a distant memory, take your time to explore urban wonders in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine 🤩. To the east, trace back (or ride back) and pay a visit to Bergerac. This town, known as a city of art and history, is the second most populated in the Dordogne, after Périgueux. The town might ring a bell, notably thanks to a certain Cyrano 🗡️... For sea and beach lovers, turn around and head to the Atlantic coast. Over here, you’ll have plenty of seaside towns to choose from: Lacanau, Andernos, Biscarrosse or Mimizan—pick the name that speaks to you and book a mobile home for a few days ⛱️. And don’t forget to check out Europe’s largest sand dune: the famous Dune du Pilat. Even though it’s just a big pile of sand, our Girondins swear by it so it must be worth it. Finally, if you simply want to stroll in the forest, you’ll have plenty of chance to wander in the Landes, linking Le Barp to Mont-de-Marsan. That gives you a solid playground 🤪. And the bike lanes are not short on options if you can’t detach from your training partner (yes, your bike 🚲).
