About this event
In Île-de-France, the GravelMan Series Paris Est invites you to take on a new cycling challenge in the heart of winter, with routes ranging from 60 to 500 km, blending gravel and paved sections. Pick your distance, receive the route and the necessary equipment, and discover varied roads around Paris in an adventurous mode. Get ready for a maximum of 18 hours of effort and remember a headlamp to stay on track through the night.
We have a new challenge for you that could really appeal to you 😎. In January, a unique cycling concept 🚴, part of the famous GravelMan Series events, starts again in Île-de-France. Paris Est, the event’s cradle region, holds all kinds of wonders and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed by the trip! ✨
At the start of winter, head to the city of light to test yourself with a new challenge ⚔️. If you’re tired of classic races and ordinary competitions, the GravelMan Series Paris Est will make your heart race 💓. Between forest trails, rocky trails and short paved roads, you’ll see a spectrum of colors 🌳. The concept is simple: once you choose your distance and pay your bib, you’ll receive the route with the start and finish locations, as well as the mandatory gear and essentials for your trek 📋. And no wandering in the Parisian capital: the routes will wind you through the entire region, giving you plenty of visuals 👀. On average, about 60-70% gravel sections, with 30-40% paved parts. The green and natural trails will be your daily routine throughout the weekend 📅. And if you don’t want to part with your beloved asphalt: that’s also possible. Each distance of 60, 120, 200, 350 and 500 km is also available in a road version, with a similar elevation 📈. So there’s no excuse not to line up at the start ❌.
More specifically, you can choose among 5 distances, depending on your profile or ambitions 👑. The first route covers 60 km and is the most accessible of all options. If this is your first race cyclosportive, whether it’s on gravel or on pavement mode road, it’s a perfect first challenge 🏆: not too short, not too long, and you’ll be able to be home for dinner 🤤. For the next tier, starting from 120 km, it’s a different ball game 👕. Limited to 18 hours maximum of effort, you’ll have to push hard to finish before nightfall 🌙. If in doubt, we recommend you take a headlamp and some lights, so you don’t end the race navigating by starlight ⭐️. For athletes seeking a course that’s both fast and demanding, the challenge of 200 km is ideal: with its 1 800 mD+ and its 200 miles, we can guarantee your thighs will burn🦵. The final routes of 350 km and 500 km are for truly seasoned athletes 🎽. Don’t take on distances like these without training. We’re talking about 2 to 3 days of non-stop effort on average 🤯. You’ll be glad to finally sit on a comfy couch once you reach the finish, and end the discomfort of bike saddles 🛋️. But hey, that’s also part of the charm of the sport, right? 😬
After a good night’s sleep (or two if needed ✅), you can park your two wheels and take to two feet 👣. The area is full of urban and natural wonders. Regarding the Parisian capital 🏙️, we won’t list all the monuments to see: that would be far too long and would take you weeks to discover 😮💨. However, we can recommend a few cool spots nearby. If you enjoy History with a capital H 📚, the splendid Château de Versailles will immerse you in the setting of the 17th and 18th century, when The Sun King ruled France with an iron fist. On the nature and environment side, the Forêt de Fontainebleau is perfect for a picnic with family or friends 🧺. About an hour drive from Paris, the green and soothing setting of the park will make you forget Parisian stress and daily worries 💭. You’ll also find many hikes if you still have energy to burn ⚡️.
Ready to engrave your name in the sport’s history? Then we’ll meet up after the holiday season to see how far you can pedal 🚵.
