Le semi-marathon et le 5 km Helping Hands sont organisés au profit de la fondation Helping Hands, une organisation à but non lucratif qui vise à avoir un impact positif sur les communautés locales. Créée après la série de tornades de 2011, la fondation soutient diverses initiatives, notamment Shelter Share pour les refuges pour animaux, Food Share pour les banques alimentaires, School Share pour les élèves et Toy Share pour les cadeaux de Noël. Les participants reçoivent un kit comprenant un t-shirt à l'effigie de l'événement et des articles personnalisés. Les participants qui terminent le semi-marathon reçoivent une médaille commémorative, tandis que ceux qui terminent le 5 km reçoivent un aimant.
