We're taking you on a massive altitude dose in Switzerland 🇨🇭, in the heart of the Bernese Highlands, in Gstaad ⛰️. The Swiss Highlands Trail is the must-attend event of mid-September for every summit enthusiast fierce and breathtaking views 😍.

Over two days, the region transforms into an amazing playground with a total of 6 athletic challenges 💪. Whether you’re here for an explosive format or a long-running adventure 🏃‍♀️, you’re in for a treat: the crown jewel, the "Highlander 60", clocking 62 km with 3 589 mD+ 🥵. If you’re after a muscular middle option, the "Highlander Marathon 42" and its 2 680 mD+ will put your endurance to the test, while the "Highlander 25" (1 300 mD+) and the "Highlander 15" (900 mD+) offer shorter formats but just as intense ⚡️. Don’t forget the relay with the "Highlander Family" which lets you share the last kilometer of your race with your child 🧒, as well as the most eager who’ll dare the "2D Challenge" combining the marathon and the 15 km. Get your legs ready, because here the altitude doesn’t go easy on you! 🦵

The terrain is a concentrated drive of mountain expertise 🏔️. We ditch the pavement to tackle technical and wild trails 🌲, defining alpine trail running in high-alpine environments 🐐. You’ll alternate between single-tracks in forest, dry climbs on rocky paths, and exposed ridges with a view that will make you forget the burn in your thighs 😅. Technical sections are everywhere with root crossings and living soils that demand constant focus 😎. It’s the essence of trail running: raw effort, unspoiled nature 🍃 and landscapes earned by mental grit 🧠. Perfect timing, because that’s exactly what awaits you at the Swiss Highlands Trail! 🤗 At aid stations, we lean on local products and the convivial atmosphere to recharge your batteries 🪫. After the effort, the race village becomes a place for unforgettable moments with fellow enthusiasts over a local specialty : cheese 🧀, smoked bacon and a piece of Toblerone to finish the meal 😋.

To extend the experience, the town of Gstaad overflows with activities 😇. You can swap your sneakers for a ride on the Glacier 3000 Cable Car ⬆️ and try the Peak Walk, the world’s only suspended bridge connecting two summits 🤯, or treat yourself to a rails slide down the mountain on the "Alpine Coaster" 🎢. If you prefer calm 😌, a stroll around the Lauenen Lake (which you spotted during your race) is a must for closer waterfall views 🌊.
