Le Hood to Coast Relay est une course par équipe de 320 km qui commence sur les pentes du mont Hood, dans l'Oregon, et se termine sur la côte Pacifique, à Seaside. Souvent qualifiée de « mère de toutes les courses de relais », cette épreuve point à point attire des milliers de coureurs du monde entier, répartis en équipes de 12 personnes qui s'affrontent sur une série de 36 étapes. Le parcours descend en lacets depuis les sommets alpins jusqu'à la luxuriante vallée de Willamette, puis serpente vers l'ouest en direction des vagues déferlantes de la côte de l'Oregon. Courant jour et nuit, les équipes font face à des conditions météorologiques changeantes, à des terrains variés et à une montée d'adrénaline tout en traversant des forêts, des terres agricoles et de petites villes. La célébration à l'arrivée à Seaside est légendaire, avec de la musique, de la nourriture et une foule enthousiaste sous le ciel en bord de mer. L'événement comprend également la Portland to Coast Walk, une course de relais compétitive et pittoresque pour les équipes de marcheurs.
