In Spain, in the Baix Maestrat, there stands a supposedly insurmountable fortress: Peñíscola ⚔️.

This city would have been conquered several times in history 🏰. And there is a soldier who will attack it again this year… you 🫵. But to participate, you’ll need to be determined 🫡. This race isn’t for beginners ❌. It’s a challenge tailored for those who want to face the very essence of endurance 💨. This triathlon is 3,8 km of swimming 🏊, 180 km of cycling 🚴 and 42,195 km of running 🏃. And yes! If you’re good at math you’ll notice that adds up to 226 🤓.

Organized by Infinitri Sports, this 226 is the culmination of a project matured over years 🗓️. After 10 editions of the half-distance, the move to XXL format was an obvious choice 😎. And it was a hit from the first year, with unanimous feedback on the quality of the organization 👍, the beauty of the course 🌊, and the crazy energy emanating from this small Spanish town 💃. And then, this event doesn’t carry its name by accident: you’ll complete a ride of 226 km in a cinematic setting 🎬. By the way, Peñíscola served as the backdrop to the season 6 of Game of Thrones …🧌 Yes, really. You might just run into Lord Varys and Tyrion Lannister in the medieval alleyways 🔥. Located on a tombolo, this magical peninsula is overseen by the famous Peñíscola Castle, former lair of the Pope Luna, and its white-washed lanes frozen in time ⏱️. Imagine diving into the Mediterranean Sea at the foot of this castle, hopping on your bike to climb the hills of the Valencian Community and finishing your run on the legendary Plaza de Santa María 📍.

The swim course circles the promontory along the coast, before reaching the south beach for the first transition 🔄. The cycling coursetakes you into the Valencian hinterland, between the towns of Càlig, Sant Jordi and Cervera on a circuit of three technical, hilly loops, already well known to insiders of the format 113 🥵. In front of you, no endless climbs, but a demanding incline and constant bursts 📈: time to pace yourself and hold on. Then comes the final marathon 💥, with four loops to the Ratlla del Terme
