About this event
Depuis sa première édition en 2002, Kärnten läuft est devenu l'un des semi-marathons les plus importants d'Autriche. Chaque année en août, plus de 8 000 athlètes venus de plus de 30 pays s'alignent pour cette course phare : un parcours de 21,1 km qui commence à Velden am Wörther See et se termine à Klagenfurt, la « ville du running », au bord du lac. Le parcours longe la rive nord du lac Wörthersee, offrant des paysages pittoresques, et passe devant de grands hôtels, des villages animés et des eaux bleues scintillantes, créant un cadre festif pour les coureurs d'élite comme pour les coureurs amateurs. L'événement propose dix courses différentes, allant des courses pour enfants et familles à une course avec des chiens, un quart de marathon et le semi-marathon principal, ce qui le rend accessible à tous les âges et tous les niveaux. Avec des stars internationales et des champions autrichiens sur la ligne de départ, des résultats chronométrés par puce électronique et des milliers de spectateurs le long du parcours, Kärnten läuft allie une course de classe mondiale à une ambiance festive estivale.
