Baloise Marathon de Namur

For its 8th edition, the Baloise Namur Marathon (by its real name) returns stronger than ever to make you run along the Meuse 🏃. The plan is in April when we meet, in Belgium 🍟, for a road race not to be missed to discover the capital of the Wallonia ! 🇧🇪 It's an exceptional setting waiting for you along the Meuse ! 🐟 Whether you start from 10 km, the 21 km or the 42,195 km, you’ll face a challenging course with elevation that will take you from Jambes to Namur, via Profondeville 🧭. A "Materne Kids Run" will also be organised! 🧒

Along the meanders of the Meuse and the Sambre, the Wallonie will reveal its historic and contemporary monuments of great grandeur 🤩. During your stay, we highly recommend checking out the citadelle! 👀 The strolls it hosts could help you unwind before or after the race! 🍃 Not far away, an unusual statue oversees the city 🙄. Called Searching for Utopia, this golden turtle was created by Jan Fabre ! 🐢

The Old Namur district is also a part you mustn’t miss. The alleys are entirely pedestrian and will take you to the Saint-Aubin Cathedral! ⛪ Built in the 18th century, it blends Gothic architecture, rococo and classic. A true visual delight! 😍 Yes, we can sense you’re curious: the Belgium, it’s also the beer 🍻, agreed. But even if it’s excellent, you should drink in moderation! Remember you’re here to run! 💨 Special info for lovers 💞 : you can bring your partner aboard a houseboat moored on the Meuse quays for a romantically unforgettable night! ⛴️ Yes, after the effort comes the reward! This race will also be a chance to perform two good deeds on the same day! The Namur Marathon is committed to an ecological initiative and to sustainable development throughout the event ♻ by limiting plastic bottle use, ensuring all waste is collected 🚮, and respecting the route and its natural zones 🌳. But there’s more: by collecting your bib, you support the KickCancer Association 🎗 which raises funds for the fight against childhood cancer 🧒. 2€ are automatically donated, but you can also make an additional donation at checkout 🤝.

Your Namur adventure can start on the Saturday of the first weekend in April, with the expo village opening (the Namur Expo). You’ll pick up your bib 🎽 there, but you’ll also enjoy the numerous activities organized 🪅. On Sunday, wake-up calls early (6am for the bravest 😉) ⏰ You must not miss this at any cost because this year, the event hosts the world record attempt for the marathon in juggling ! 🤹‍♂️ The organizers have everything in place to make this competition accessible to everyone, including families 👩‍👩‍👦 who want to come run but couldn't find someone to watch their little one... 👶 A free daycare will be available from 7am 🧸. In this space, children aged 3 to 12 will be supervised by the Maison des jeunes et de la Culture de Champion. The number of places is limited so be sure to indicate this option during your registration! 📝
