That’s it, autumn, the season that many of us adore, has settled in nicely 🍂. The orange hues of the trees blend with the beautiful golden reflections of the sun, and the sound of dried leaves under our steps reminds us that winter is creeping in. But before we go into total hibernation, how about enjoying the last sunny days of the Hautes-Alpes? 🏃

Lace up your sneakers, and head to Puy-Saint-Pierre in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, for a season-themed event: the Automnal 05. For its very first edition in history, this race will take you just a stone’s throw from Briançon on the trails of the Puys. Dressed in their beautiful autumn wardrobe 🍁, the Prorel and the Vallée de Serre-Chevalier will welcome you for a race in nature under rather cool but pleasant temperatures. The event lineup features 3 distances with varied profiles to satisfy every craving! 👌 L’Automnal, the biggest option with its 27 km and 2 100 mD+, is reserved for seasoned Finishers who aren’t afraid of legs that heat up 🔥. The race of the Canaux and its 14 km will be more accessible and rolling, but beware of the 500 mD+… And finally, a last race vertical of 3 km and 1 000 mD+ completes this lovely program 🙈.

The imposing Mont Prorel will be the backdrop throughout your course with its peak soaring above 2 500 metres of altitude! 🏔 In a autumnal setting, you’ll discover a good portion of its side facing Briançon and overlooking Serre-Chevalier. If you’re craving a breath of fresh air, the alpine meadows and vast spaces you’ll encounter during the race will surely delight you! 💨🦋 One tip: don’t wait too long if you want to be part of the adventure, because the event is open to only 500 participants maximum (for the two races combined)! 🚀 The organizers have indeed decided to cap participant numbers to protect this pristine environment. And a nice bonus of the race: it stands for solidarity since every registration will donate 1€ to an association supporting Ukrainian war victims 🙌.

After your mountain escape, what better than staying a bit longer to enjoy this immense playground? The rivers of the Briançonnais - the Durance, the Guisane and the Clarée - can satisfy your craving for thrills 🛶. For a quieter cultural stroll, you can explore the forts of BriançonRandouillet or the Salettes. And after the exertion, the comfort of course! You can regain your energy with the tourtons de Champsaur, stuffed with potatoes, meat, or prunes 🤤.
