In the heart of summer ☀️, in mid-July, the department of the Corrèze invites you to a resounding event, the Trail Aquaterra! 💦 Set at the lake of Bort-les-Orgues, you’ll find an exceptional multisport competition 🤸. The lake, formed by the dam of the same name and active since 1952, sits on the Dordogne RiverDordogne. The town of Bort-les-Orgues sits at the crossroads of Corrèze, the Cantal and Puy-de-Dôme, renowned for its rich natural heritage. Organizers plan ambitious routes every year ✨. Several distances count toward the UTMB World Circuit, so expect a certain level of 💪.

In a stunning setting, you can tackle a running race 🏃‍♂️, a hike 🥾, and even swimming events 🏊🏼‍♀️, as the Aquaterra defines itself as a “festival of nature sports” 🌿. Perfect for a weekend with friends and/or family! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 There are options for everyone: distances of 8 km, 16 km, 27 km also available as a hiking format (rando 🚶🏼‍♂️), even with your faithful companion 🐶, while the longer routes of 50 km and 85 km are reserved for seasoned trail runners. A bargain if you want to share this moment with a loved one (or an enemy 👿). Plus, there are also 3 SwimRun events, literally “Swim/Run” in the format L, M and S, respectively distances of 40 km, 21 km or 10 km. Note that the first two are contested in pairs 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 and the last one lets you choose to do it solo or with a partner 😁.

On the agenda for this rendezvous: a grand lake surrounded by forests 🌲 and fed by the beautiful passages through the barrage EDF ⚡ and in front of the castles that still loom in the region 🏰.
