In January in the Yvelines, start from Les Bréviaires for a nature run through the paths and trails of the Bois de Hollande, over 12 or 24 km. Expect a winter course with slippery ground and cold weather, but the effort will warm bodies and the festive atmosphere will accompany you to the finish. After the effort, savor Houdan chicken and Saint-Germain soup, followed by a walk in the Rambouillet Forest.
Well then? How long has it been since you stepped out of your comfort zone? Come on, stand up and come to Île-de-France, more precisely to the Yvelines in the town of Les Bréviaires. The town welcomes you for its annual event: the Hivernale. This nature race truly lives up to its name, since it takes place in January. You can imagine the temperatures won’t be high, perhaps even very low! In winter, fog and rain might accompany you during your run. But don’t worry, the more you run the warmer you’ll get 😉! This trail offers 2 distances : the 12 km and the 24 km.
From the start in the Les Bréviaires, you’ll quickly leave the town to join the trails and dirt paths of the surroundings. But watch out, in the forest, you’re strongly advised to mind where you step, winter is well known for its slippery and sometimes slightly snowy ground. You’ll cross through the entire bois de Hollande, with its leisure base and its pond. You’ll also pass by a few mounds, but you’re in luck — you’re not asked to climb them, the organizers don’t want to risk creating a giant slide of runners... 🤣 Then, after you complete your loop, you’ll cross the finish line to a thunderous round of applause from the roving spectators!
That trail work up your appetite, doesn’t it? Great, after you finish you can savor the poultry of Houdan and the Saint-Germain soup. After satisfying your hunger and to digest calmly we offer a stroll in the Rambouillet forest, where you’ll find a magnificent castle.
