About this event
Year-end sport event in Remiremont, in the Vosges (Grand Est), with the Corrida des Abbesses and its 14-18 night trail over 9.2 km, the day before the race. An ultra-friendly edition that also offers a 7.3 km road race and many distances for children, all in a festive atmosphere around the Parmont fort and the local abbey. The event blends sport with discovery of the city, ideal for burning off holiday meals.
Ending the year with a light fresh run is the plan offered to you by the Corrida des Abbesses ! So head to Remiremont alias the cité des Chanoinesses, in the Vosges department, in the heart of the Grand Est region, to get ahead of your New Year’s resolutions! 👌
At the program for this event held in late December, 2 distances are planned. The nocturnal trail “ 14-18 ” (yes, like the war) which is about 9.2 km and takes place the eve of the corrida. A perfect warm-up! You’ll also be able to take part in the “ Corrida des Abbesses ”, a road race of 7.3 km to treat yourself and aim for your best time if you feel like it. As for your kids, many distances are dedicated to them! And yes, anyone can grab a bib, just like Guedotte, a… goat who took part in the race in 2019! Your turn to do the same. 🤣
If you want to trim down a bit on the Christmas Eve feast or share a family run on super affordable distances, this is the perfect opportunity! The route has brought together since 1980 (yes, that date! A mark of quality!), running fans between Christmas and New Year so get ready to experience a festive and sporty moment along the many streets of the town 🥳. You’ll notably have the chance to cross the fort du Parmont dating from the 19th century and you’ll glimpse the mythical abbey of the area, built in the 7th century. You’ll then understand why the town is nicknamed the belle des Vosges with its canonical district of houses now named as historic monuments, its palace and its Romanesque chapels.
The Corrida des Abbesses is a race that is ultra-friendly with costumes, confetti and cheers, and it lets you discover Remiremont from a new angle. After your run, you can catch your breath at the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges or visit Épinal, just a few kilometers from Remiremont. And for local gastronomy, given the season’s indulgences, you can indulge in the pâté de truite des Abbesses, de la nonnette of Remiremont, a little honey-ginger cake and the loriquette, a star-shaped cake with almond paste. 😋
