Running like a gazelle or a hare rings a bell 🐇? Today, we’re talking about animals with a bit more presence and offering you to run not just like but WITH some bears, some tigers or even lions 🦁. Pretty cool concept, right? Even cooler when you know that all profits will be donated to associations dedicated to animal protection and conservation across species 😇. The Breizh'Asia, this nature road race charity event will let you explore every corner of the Trégomeur Zoo Park, in the heart of the Côtes-d’Armor. ✌️

Contrary to what you might think, in Brittany in March, race conditions are nearly optimal, with average temperatures fluctuating between 10 and 12 degrees and a beautiful sun, we’ll take anything in this context ☀️! The start of the Breizh'Asia will therefore be given at the ZooParc de Trégomeur. On the program for this edition: a 10 km race to be completed solo or in a mandatory mixed relay 👫. The little ones will also be highlighted with several kids’ races scheduled. A great reason for families to come to a location as unique as this one. The park’s hallmark is its focus on Asian animal species ㊙️. You’ll have the chance to see tigers, lions, panthers and all kinds of primates … Just thinking about it makes you want to run while hearing Mufasa or Simba roar, it’s pretty epic. 😜

And regarding the course itself, what should you expect? The guiding principle of this race is zen balance 😎. Here there are no music blocks, no fanfares, just you in harmony with nature, respect for animals and the surrounding spaces 🌳. Since the park theme is Asia, it will feature forests of bamboo, gardens of Zen and a trek through the woods that unfold before you. If your strides aren’t too loud, listen for the cries of numerous animals within the park 🙉. Normally, the felines’ enclosures will be closed, but stay alert and get ready to make your best sprint if an attack comes 😂. Quick tip: if it’s a bear attack, do not run and play dead 😵. In terms of elevation, the general trend is that the course stays very accessible for runners of all levels, giving you time to truly live a one-of-a-kind race. Just know there’s a small uphill at the start to get you in the mood, but nothing scary. 👍

To recharge on arrival, enjoy the park which will stay open until late afternoon, letting you dive deep into Asian fauna and flora.. For the daring kind, a detour onto the locally scenic roads is a must. Discover the magnificent Binic fishing port 🚤, or the majestic Saint-Brieuc Bay, where you’re invited to sample the local oysters 🦪. To really cap it off, what could be better than a beer made in Côtes-d’Armor
