Are you ready? Then meet us in San Sebastian (in Spanish) or Donostia (in Basque), this seaside city nicknamed "the Pearl of the Cantabrian" (you’ll quickly understand why 😎). With such beautiful beaches surrounded by mountains but a flat city center, it’s the perfect place for a road race idyll. Good news, we’re inviting you to sign up for the 15 km of Donostia - San Sebastian and to live a unique experience, only 50 km from Biarritz. The most romantic Basque seaside resort welcomes you for an exceptional event in October, when temperatures start to cool (you can put away your sweater, it still feels Spain ☀️). More than 5 000 participants take off each year to face the biggest city in the province of Gipuzkoa 💪.

The organizers have planned plenty to delight all Finishers, which is why two distances will be offered. You should be able to conquer the first, 5 km long, with minimal training, while the second, "La Clásica Salto 5K DSS", will require a bit more preparation if you want to conquer its 15 km. The start is given Avenida de Madrid in an electrifying Basque vibe with music, cheers and local applause 👏.

The course designed by the organizers will let you discover all the beauty of San Sebastian. Between the wide avenues of the city center and the narrow lanes of the old town, you’ll enjoy the blend of tradition and modernity offered by Donostia. You’ll undoubtedly be struck by the beauty of La Concha Bay and its beach which is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. The 15 km route runs along this slice of paradise with the hills of the Monte Igueldo to the west and the Monte Urgull to the east (don’t panic, you won’t have to climb them, they’re just to feast your eyes 🤩). The courses don’t have huge difficulties and will allow you to set a reference time for the distance. You’ll run in a typically Basque atmosphere as you pass the Paseo de la Concha without missing the scent of Pintxos (local tapas 😋). Of course, you’ll be charmed by the small beachside shops, so famous in Spain (no time to bring back a shirt "I ❤️ San Sebastian" for your grandmother, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the shopping streets after your race 😅). Although you’ll only be on roads and cobblestones, you’ll feel like you’re changing environment as the course unfolds since the route lets you discover all corners of San Sebastian. The finish will be on the side of the Mini Anoeta, near the Anoeta Stadium which is well known to a certain Antoine Griezmann who started there as a professional footballer ⚽️. We can’t promise as many supporters as during Real Sociedad matches Real Sociedad but we’re not far!

After your race, you absolutely must visit San Sebastian’s must-sees. To start with the Pintxos bars that make the city one of the Basque Country’s top gastronomic destinations 😋. You’ll also be able to stroll through the old San Sebastian and its lively streets filled with warm Donostiens 🎉. The area’s hikes are also a real treat, letting you gain height overlooking the city and enjoy a postcard-perfect setting 🌄. As you’ve probably guessed, you’ll have a hard time getting bored in northern Spain, so don’t wait and sign up for the 15 km Donostia - San Sebastian.
