Trail des Passerelles du Monteynard

In the Isère, at the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, dive into one of the most original trails you’ll have the chance to run: the Trail des passerelles du Monteynard 🏃‍♂️. Why "original"? It’s simple: you’ll experience a ascent above the Lac de Monteynard thanks to suspension bridge systems! 😯 Tame your vertigo, lace up your running shoes 👟 and come swing through the air under July’s sun July ☀️ to tackle one of the 11 trails on offer (yes, there’s a lot to choose from! 😂). Take notes, because the list is as long as the bridges you’ll cross: a trail of 63 km ( doable solo or in a 3-person relay 🤝), a 40 km, a 28 km, a 27 km 2 of 17 km (including a solo or duo option)), a 16 km, a 15 km, a 14 km and a 12 km hikekids and juniors routes 👧 for young athletes. Heads up, the Trail des Passerelles du Monteynard, is intense... and not just because the starting line is at Treffort 😉, a charming little town nearby. Like any serious trail of this scale, several distances are on the program and you’ve got plenty of choice! And the organizers have pulled out all the stops! 🎁 Friends or the best buddies can even treat themselves to one of the three available distances in duo or in relay 👯‍♂️.

All routes circle around the lake of Monteynard 🏊‍♂️ and the trails in nature offer sublime spots on the Alps 🏔️ . It’s impressive and only the beginning! The passHimalayan bridges will let you go over the lake and admire its astonishing turquoise water; you’ll wonder if you’re in the Isère or in the Maldives 🏝. It’s a delicious cocktail of adrenaline and breathtaking scenery: a view of the dam, passages through mines, tunnels in the underground museum of Mine Image and a detour under the Pierre Percée Arch. Everything is planned so you feel a different ambiance every moment 😍. Yes, the highlight of the race is its originality and the thrill. The organizers even reserve you a singular challenge: Le Petit Train 🚃 lets you run along a railway line, the route of one of the region’s most famous mining trains. Many runners will also have the chance to reach the summit of the Sénépi which offers a breathtaking view of the Vercors 👀
