In Hérault, in the heart of Occitanie, the Pignan Trail offers 4 distances suitable for all levels: 5 km with the Pignanaise, 11 km with the Gariguette, 16 km with the Rougette, and 28 km. The start takes place from Parc du Château de Pignan, at the edge of the trails and the surrounding garrigue, for an authentic and sometimes technical nature trail. After the race, discover the surroundings of Pignan and enjoy the summer atmosphere and nearby wine-growing villages.
June in the South is too hot, so come run in Pignan in the Hérault, right in the heart of the Occitanie region! It’s going to be hot, that’s for sure, but the Trail of Pignan is so thrilling you’ll quickly forget the heat and only remember the pleasant sunshine of this corner of France ☀️ !
First you’ll choose how you’ll be dealing with it! The program features 4 distances: “the Pignanaise” of 5 km, “the Gariguette” of 11 km, “the Rougette” and its 16 km and finally the trail of 28km ! You’ll surely find the right fit for your level ✅.
Start under the best auspices since you’re kicking off from Parc du Château de Pignan for your journey, whatever distance you choose! Depending on the distance, you’ll delve more or less into the surrounding garrigue 🌳. The shorter distances focus on passages along the trails of Pignan, at the city’s edge. The longest route offers beautiful views of the surroundings of Pignan while enjoying an authentic nature trail and occasionally a bit technical on the steep sections 🧗♂️. Some climbs await, but there’s also a stretch through the woods that will surely be more relaxing. The natural setting with the wine-growing villages is perfect for enjoying this trail in complete tranquility: the Trail of Pignan !
After your race, we’re sure you’ll want to explore the surroundings of Pignan 🤓. Besides the charming village worth a detour, you’ll enjoy the local summer traditions and the Languedoc culture. Plus, the city of Montpellier is only a few kilometers away, as is the beach and the warm sand of the Hérault. Be sure to try the local specialty, les grisettes 🍬!
