La Sagittaire

Don’t worry, you don’t need to know all that to kick off on the trail of la Sagittaire which takes place every January in Sucy-en-Brie. In the heart of Val-de-Marne, Île-de-France, you’ll be able to start this 21 km trail race, and that regardless of your zodiac sign 😆. Indeed, you don’t have to be born between November 23 and December 21 to enter the race. Lucky you 😂! As you’ve understood, you have a 21 km trail route at your disposal that you can also complete by walking. A no-fuss program where you only need to focus on your stride and enjoy the scenery. 👀

What could possibly tempt you to join this race in Sucy-territory? 🤨 Perhaps the fact that the event is completely eco-friendly 🌍. It’s always important to consider ecology in organizing sports events like the Sagittaire, and the organizers of the event have clearly understood that. They Sagite for the Taire (you get it? 😉)! Anyway, let’s keep it simple, let’s talk parcours. These 21 km will give you a real tour of the surroundings of Sucy-en-Brie. On unpaved trails, you’ll pass through woods and forests like the Domaine de Notre-Dame or the Grosbois Regional Forest. And yes, even though we’re just a few kilometers from Paris, your surroundings will be decidedly green 🌳. Additionally, we’re talking about a trail race, but the difficulty won’t be very high since you’ll only need to cover 250 mD+. This nature race is very accessible for all running levels. The only things that might stop you during this 21 km adventure are perhaps the mud or this passage through the Réveillon. So no, we’re not talking about Christmas, but a river: you’ll have to get wet to finish the race, and in mid-winter, it won’t be a walk in the park 🥶. After warming up from your refreshing escape, you can visit the Grosbois Castle located in Boissy-Saint-Léger, just a stone’s throw from Sucy-en-Brie. Otherwise, you can also swing by the Bois de Vincennes, the largest green space in Paris. If you’re a bit hungry, you can of course head to Brie de Meaux (it’s in the city’s name, you can’t miss it 😂) or even the Meaux mustard. And yes, surprisingly, Sushi isn’t Sucy’s specialty 🍣
