La Spinassienne

And the lights are finally going out, the spectators quiet down, and the performers can take the stage! 🎭 Determined to deliver their best performance 💪, the running troupe still feels a touch of nerves at the thought of starting the race piece! 🎪 It’s also the 16th edition of the Spinassienne, many of them knowing every velodrome tirade to perfection… In short, you’ve guessed it, this isn’t about theater, but about running! And it’s about the half-marathon of the Spinassienne that we’d like to tell you about! 🏃‍♂️

Organized in October, October, the Spinassienne is a race held in Épinay-sur-Seine in Seine-Saint-Denis. This race is organized every year by the town. There are no fewer than three courses on offer: a half marathon (21 km), a 10 km race, and a 3.8 km race. Note that different races will also be organized for children! 🧒 And on top of that, all race proceeds will be donated to the charity Les Restos du cœur... What more could you ask for? 🙏

Oh yes, the course! The race will start at the Parc Municipal des Sports d’Épinay-sur-Seine (Gymnase Léo Lagrange), a true playground for any athlete worthy of the name since the park boasts no fewer than 3 soccer fields ⚽️, 1 athletics track renovated just a year ago with a Mondo surface 🏃‍♂️, 2 tennis courts 🎾… Afterwards, you’ll run through the center of Épinay, before treading the Seine banks for several kilometers. With more than two kilometers of re‑worked banks between the Béatus Park 🌳 and the Boulevard Foch, Épinay-sur-Seine offers a fantastic playground for runners and some exceptional natural scenery 🤩.

After the race, you can head to the banks of Épinay to grab a snack 🍿 or simply take a stroll by the water 😴. A village will also be set up after the race for family-friendly fun 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. Deck chairs, benches, and tables will be arranged, all made from natural materials, to help you unwind after the run! 💆‍♂️ You can also explore the nature— as the city has recently installed educational panels so everyone can learn more about the fauna and flora that inhabit the banks of the Île-de-France 🤓.
