Trail du Ventolet

Looking for a new challenge? 🤔 The Trail du Ventolet is made for you! 🫵 Set in the idyllic surroundings of Villefranche-de-Lauragais in Occitanie, this event offers multiple courses, suitable for all levels, with, as a bonus, a breathtaking landscape between nature and forest 🌲 🤩.

For this 5th edition, the course gets a new skin with a brand-new route 🗺️. Whether you’re a fan of sprint or long-distance running, you can choose from four trails ranging from 8 km to 23 km. If you’re more of a tortoise 🐢 or hare 🐇, you also have the option of a 9 km walk, non-timed. If you’re the type to share your pains and joys, why not try the 2x7km relay, with a friend or running partner 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️.

The “Ventada”, the “Ventola”, the “Pichona” or even the “Mièja”. These names may not tell you much, but they have a precise meaning. They all come from Occitan, a dialect mostly spoken in the Pays d'Oc. Talk about an even more authentic and immersive experience! The trail takes place in April, so the weather can be changeable 🌦️. It’s important that you can anticipate all possible changes so your race runs smoothly and safely! ⛑️ Even if spring is well underway, the sun still sets early ⚠️. If you’re taking part in the “Ventada”, you will need to bring lighting equipment 🔦.

80 % of the race is run on trails. Meanwhile, you’ll get to pass by calm rural landscapes 💆‍♀️. Cut off from traffic, you can focus best on your race! 🤓 You’ll need to be vigilant on the small paths, butfast on the road, for the remaining 20 %. If you’re among the brave who try the 23 km, you’ll get to see more aquatic landscapes 💧 than others. You’ll pass by the Fage stream toward Saint Vincent. You’ll run along the Lac de Vallègue as you head toward Fontvieille. And after the race, what better than to enjoy the treasures of our beautiful region? 😍 You can treat yourself to a cultural trip by visiting the magnificent Canal du Midi, savor a delicious local cuisine at la Ferme de Labarthe 🐔, or unwind by strolling along the Rigole de la plaine. Don’t forget to pay a visit to L'Église Saint-Vincent de Villefranche-de-Lauragais ⛪, a historical monument, definitely worth a detour 😉.
