In Erquy, this seaside trail takes place in the bays of Saint-Malo and Saint-Brieuc, at the heart of the Cap d’Erquy – Cap Fréhel Grand Site and Natura 2000. Three distances — 6, 14 and 33 km — accompany other activities such as Nordic walking and routes on the GR34, with breathtaking natural heritage between cliffs, fishing villages and dunes. Sign up quickly: spaces are limited and eco-responsibility is at the heart of the event.
A coastal trail run with the bay of Saint-Malo and Saint-Brieuc as a backdrop, “ Landes and Bruyères” offers you in early May the chance to Run on the Grand Site Cap d’Erquy – Cap Fréhel, branded Natura 2000. Since 2002, this race is perfect for discovering the Côtes-d’Armor with its breath-taking natural heritage between cliffs 🏜️, fishing villages 🐟 and GR34 trails.
Before mentioning the course, you’d better be quick to sign up! Indeed, the events are limited to 1000 participants each ⏱️. It’s like at the refreshment point: first come, first served! This is part of the event’s eco-friendly approach with reusable cups and deposit, dry toilets and water taps at aid stations ♻️. They’ve thought of everything, including changing rooms, to the showers and a kid’s area! Three trail distances from trail are on the schedule: the “Course de la Corniche” » of 6 km, the “Course Nature du Cap d’Erquy” » of 14 km and the “Course Nature des 2 caps” » of 33 km. But that’s not all: there are also two Nordic walking options from 16 km and 27 km, 6 hikes, three cycling routes 🚴 and even a kayak hike at sea. 🚣
With average temperatures ranging from 9 to 14 degrees, it’s perfect for a good run ! The lineup for your effort includes the Goélo coast paths, the GR34 trails, the countryside routes, the dunes, the pebbles, the rocky promontories, the heaths, the woods. Want more 😊 ? You’ll also climb stairs to discover fishermen villages and you’ll stroll the Erquy streets to cut the finish line located under the arch of the Côtes d’Armor Departmental Council.
After the race, you can visit iconic sites in the region such as the Fort de la Pointe de la Latte, the chapel of Ilot Saint-Michel, the Bienassis Castle and the Cap d’Erquy Lighthouse. You’ll also enjoy discounted rates with your participant bib. 👌
And to treat yourself and recharge, the Côtes d’Armor department has everything you need: scallops, Paimpol Coco beans, Val André lollipops, Gavottes biscuits and Armorik Breton whisky will delight your plate. 😋
