La Nieuwpoort Swim marque le début du Long Course Weekend Belgium avec l'une des rares courses de natation en eau libre du pays. Situé dans le delta paisible du port de Nieuwpoort, ce parcours unique offre une expérience rare en eau libre dans l'ambiance d'un événement de classe mondiale. La course commence et se termine au cœur du port de la ville, juste à côté du mémorial de Nieuwpoort, qui rend hommage aux soldats britanniques tombés au combat. Son emplacement, à l'abri des courants marins mais suffisamment proche pour profiter de l'ambiance côtière, en fait un lieu idéal pour les athlètes novices et expérimentés en eau libre. La configuration permet aux spectateurs de s'aligner sur les deux rives, créant ainsi un couloir animé d'encouragements et de soutien tout au long de la course. Ce n'est pas seulement le début d'un week-end, c'est un événement exceptionnel à part entière, alliant histoire, paysages et courses de haut niveau.
