Le Cross du Figaro

Victor Hugo once said “ Fraternity is merely a human idea, solidarity is a universal idea” 🎓. This concept of solidarity becomes even more meaningful when the Téléthon is launched each year 🙏. Le Cross du Figaro is a charity nature run that takes place in November in the Hauts-de-Seine, and more precisely in the municipality of Saint-Cloud. As the Figaro's lackey would say in the Barber of Seville, all in the "Figaro, Figaro, Figaroooooo" 🎤.

A pretty enticing schedule, promising a weekend packed with joy and happiness and sharing, the watchwords of the event 🤗, waiting for you. Because far more than just a race, the Cross du Figaro is first and foremost a race with impact on several levels ♻️. The first commitment, and likely the most important, is an affiliation with the Téléthon, which is characterized by a near-full charity of gains directed to this association 💪. Born in 1987Téléthonis a broad fundraising operation aimed at fighting genetic and neuromuscular diseases. Also involved in the environmental preservation, and notably the Île-de-France spaces, this event is a genuine spirit of solidarity and supporting to be carried out by running during this adventure 🏃‍♂️.

Yes, this is an adventure you’ll have the chance to experience for this new edition of the Cross du Figaro. A colorful, high-energy adventure 🎨, and the rendezvous is set at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud 🌳. On the event program, 6 races for all levels: 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, 20 km, as well as two night runs of 5 or 10 km 🔦. By day or by night, head to the Saint-Cloud park and its 460 hectares, and discover its long avenues, its beautiful lawns and wooded areas beloved by Parisians 😍. The feeling of being in a real forest 🌲 in the middle of nowhere, though you’re only 10 minutes from Paris, is unique. If you can’t travel to Saint-Cloud, the organizers have thought of you by creating a Connected Run ⌚️ access. The idea is that your bib costs 10€ (25% will be donated to Téléthon), once your registration is finalized, you have one week to run 5 km, anywhere and hope to be classified! 🎖️

And regarding the course, what should you expect? 🧐 It’s a trail that is as finely crafted as a narrative straight from the Figaro that the organizers prepared for you 📰. Once housed by a former castle 🏰, burned by flames in 1870, it’s within the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud that you’ll run for a good cause. Mainly inhabited by cedar, cypress, pines and oaks, it’s a true natural expedition that will bring you freshness and oxygen, as you traverse 🌲. Each meter will immerse you in the rich heritage of the park, originally acquired by Catherine de Médicis in 1577, and designed as a expansive French-style garden 🥖. Numerous sculptures of Greek and Roman deities are scattered throughout the estate and you’ll have the chance to admire the magnificent fountains that adorn the park, culminating in a sublime water display at the Grande Cascade ⛲️. Take a moment to admire at its summit the sculpture representing "La Jonction de la Seine et de la Marne", a true architectural feat 👏.

After supporting and taking part in this fundraising effort, and pushing yourself on the paths of the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud to achieve your best time ⏱️, we recommend exploring the Hauts-de-Seine department, to learn more about its cultural and gastronomic. Visit the Domaine départemental de la Vallée-aux-Loups and the Maison de Chateaubriand, two iconic sites in the region that keep alive the memory of the writer 📚. Then head to Sèvres to admire the world-renowned porcelains of the Cité de la Céramique 🍶On the menu, you’ll find fritters of crab sticks, accompanied by a shepherd’s star, this rhubarb and almond tart 🥧, and a glass of Suresnes wine 🍷.
