Trails, a mix of routes, distances galore: it’s La Barjo! 🤪

From 15 km to 100 km, there’s something for everyone! In La Hague, the event is open to all, whether you’re a beginner or seasoned. September is ideal in Normandy for this type of race that will have you Running on beaches 🏖️, along cliff tops 🏜️ or in the heart of nature. 🏞️

The long distance first, for the great Barjos. 100 km for the "Barjo Ultra-Trail". This race must be completed in 15 hours maximum (which isn’t enough for a good night’s sleep…) at the start from Beaumont-Hague to 4h30 in the morning… It’s rough 😴 ! It’s you who must plan your route in advance across the hiking paths. The event is in self-sufficiency. Only water will be distributed at certain points.🚰

Half the distance, as the name implies, the "1/2 Barjo Trail" must be run in 9h30 maximum, with, as for the big sister, mandatory checkpoints to pass.

The "Trail Brin de Folie", is 25 km and must be completed in under 4h30, always in self-sufficiency. Finally, the "Petite Barjo “Trail Run” is 15 km long, more accessible to runners who are beginners. On top of that there’s a 15 km nocturne 🌚 and two challenges: the "Defi des Grands Barjos" is a combination, over two days, of participating in the "Trail Brin de Folie" and the "Ultra Trail". So, 25 km + 100 km = 125 km over a weekend 🥵. Easier, the "Challenge des Barjos" offers, still on the same weekend, to complete the "Trail Brin de Folie" and then the "1/2 Barjo Trail". That’s 75 km in two days. Not bad either! 😉

All these trails allow you to perform on the Normandy beaches, whether they’re made of pebbles or sand as well as in the surrounding nature}. Some sections run by the Goury Lighthouse , the Nez de Jobourg , the Port Racine and the Pointe du Grouin. At the finish at Beaumont-Hague, there will be musical performances 🎼 welcoming you with a great atmosphere. Racers who have taken part in this event all agree that Cotentin is worth visiting… but this time at a slower pace! 👍
