La Besace Nature

A race made in Normandy in Calvados and its fabulous landscapes punctuated by green meadows, apple orchards, cliffs, sandy beaches and hedgerows. A dream setting, isn’t it? 🤩​

The commune of Saint-Martin-des-Besaces opens its doors to you in December for a friendly event 🥳​. The race is organized by the association “ Stoppage, courir pour mieux vieillir.” The goal of the event is simple: to promote physical activity as a factor that supports healthy aging. It is said that the secret of Pharrell Williams to always look good through the years is to take part in every edition of the Besace Nature.

There’s everything you need in the Besace ​👜​! Races are open to everyone from the cadet category, whether you’re there to run at your own pace or to chase records you’re welcome 👋​. The organizer has considered all runner profiles by offering 4 different events. This way everyone can run the Besace Nature that suits them, from the beginner who wants to practice health sport to the most seasoned athlete.

You only have to choose the format that suits you from the 9 km hike, The duo a 9km race with a teammate, the short solo of 14 km or the long solo of 25 km. Whatever you choose, you’ll embark on a exceptional nature run with 60% of trails 🏞️​ and 40% on road 🛣️​.

The start is at Saint-Martin-des-Besaces, then you head toward the village of Bouillonsforest of the bishop where you’ll find wooded paths. Depending on your route you’ll pass through the Haute Varinière before descending towardSaint-Denis-Maisoncelles and its surroundings. You’ll then run between streams and wooded hills, an ideal place to clear your mind and recharge.

As for the nature, the region doesn’t disappoint. Beautiful strolls along the water’s edge are to be discovered, notably the plan d'eau de Bény-Bocage welcomes you year-round. You can wander along the banks where ducks splash happily on the water a few meters away 🦆​. Enjoy the calm as you stroll along the fish-filled waters.🐟​
