The Nature Marathon Man is the event you need to become a top Hérault athlete !

Now, superheroes no longer wear capes, but running shoes 👟 . And we hope you’re properly shod for the 100% nature road race100% nature that awaits you. The unique backdrop of the Hérault is the stage for your next race. See you in Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers in the northeast of the Hérault department in the Occitanie region just a stone's throw from the Cévennes. A Mediterranean climate awaits a few miles from the sea, though the event takes place in December, so it's unlikely you'll want to detour to take a dip 🥶.

Each stride takes you to discover the stunning countryside around the Pic-Saint-Loup. You’re off on a nature run up the famous road along the bois du Pâtus between Pic and Hortus. You’ll discover local villages as you pass through Rouet, then you reach the plateau of Pompignan and its cliff. You’ll descend again toward the valley with the villages of Claret, Lauret, and Valflaunès guiding you toward the finish line 🏁.

The big plus of this event is the variety of routes on offer. Several distances are on the program, with for the trails a 10 km, a 21.1 km, and a 42 km. And since together we go farther, the 42 km is open relay-style at 4 🤝. Your thing is walking? No worries! You can also take part in a 10 km walk. We also haven’t forgotten the youngest participants! There are kids races open 🧒. 

Once on site, don’t miss the local heritage, take the time to explore the surroundings. Take a trip to Montpellier and enjoy the charm of the Occitan city 🏙️. Also venture to discover the splendid nearby caves, including the Grotte des Demoiselles and its natural cathedral adorned with stunning concretions. Your efforts will have whetted your appetite, but don’t worry—you’ll be able to savor local specialties with little Pézenas pastries or the goat cheese called pelardon, a small raw goat milk cheese 🧀.
