Starting from Cahors in Lot, the Ultra Trail Causses and Valleys offers 4 exceptional races: Mineral Trail 92 km, The Atypical Trail 42 km, Nocturne Trail 17 km, and The Xtrem Challenge (VTT/trail) up to 200 km/92 km. This trail is part of the UTMB® World Series and winds through the Parc naturel des Causses du Quercy, between canyons, villages and spectacular landscapes of the Southwest.
Today we’re heading south-western France, and more precisely to the Lot for an exceptional trail. The Ultra Trail Causses et Vallées takes place in Cahors, in the heart of spring 🌞, in Occitanie, and offers its runners 4 race options : the "Mineral Trail" of 92 km, "L’Atypique Trail" of 42 km, the "Nocturne Trail" of 17 km and "L'Xtrem Challenge", a combo mountain bike/trail of 200 km and 92 km! Tough as nails! 😮💨 The event is renowned and is part of the UTMB World Circuit, that level... 🏋️♀️
The Ultra Trail Causses et Vallées will have you running or cycling through the stunning setting of the Parc Naturel des Causses du Quercy. The famous plateaux des Causses shape the landscape of the park 🌳. The impressive canyons of the Ouysse and of the Alzou weave through the region 🥰. The second one is part of the route for the night race 🌒. Starting from Cahors, participants will go from path to path and from village to village to discover Saint Cirq-Lapopie, Cabrerets, Gramat, Rocamadour, Montfaucon, Labastide-Murat and Vers before returning to the starting town 🚩. Expect significant elevation on the 92 km route, which will demand 1 810 mD+ from its runners.

Your destination today, Cahors, is perfect for starting to discover this region. Once you finish your wild ride, enjoy some rest in this beautiful town. You’ve passed through so quickly during the trail that you can afford to stroll in Rocamadour, a medieval village among the most visited in France 🇫🇷. Figeac, named a "City of Art and History" 📕, also has a great charm 🥰. And then, slightly off-season, the town will feel even more yours 🫵.
It’s not every day you get to see landscapes this stunning, made up of many gorges, of caves and cliffs! Add a little Padirac Abyss or Pech Merle cave in your GPS and follow the guidance, you won’t be disappointed on this trip... 😉 La Vallée du Célé, with its cliffs and its troglodyte houses, is also worth a detour. You might treat yourself to a plate of Mongetada
