Le PAL Run

And what if you added to your pedigree the PAL? Le Pal Run is, as its name suggests, a race organized in partnership with the PAL, a wildlife park and amusement park in Allier, in Dompierre-sur-Besbre. It’s no coincidence that the event takes place in April, when temperatures are optimal and nature gradually comes to life in spring. The start is early, so make sure to dress accordingly to start in the best conditions 👍. It would be a shame not to enjoy this incredible environment, a kind of synthesis of all the fauna and flora you can discover in the department. It promises to be lively! Running isn’t just about a time, it’s a state of mind, even before the starting gun. Festive atmosphere, running with music and dancing: everything is ready to warm you up in a playful mood. 👶

To add more conviviality and go all out, prepare your best animal costume! Promise, you won’t be the only one, far from it! Two distances are offered: 10 km and the Half Marathon. The courses start at 3 km into the park before you dive wholly into it. Le Pal Run, it’s a throwback to childhood in the park’s attractions. There’s something for everyone : King Kong, the Carrousel, the Siberian Tiger, the African Trail... Being able to discover such a different environment in a single race, what a chance! And there’s even more you haven’t seen yet! The animal section of the park is even more magical. Get ready to walk through the “wolf forest”, but also the habitat of alligators, meerkats, ostriches, lynxes and lycaons 🐺. As for the alligators, they usually can’t escape but sharpen your best strides, you never know. 🥵

In addition to giving your chrono a boost, the presence of these animals makes you feel an indescribable sensation that you won’t find anywhere else 👁. During 7 km, you traverse the entire park and if your current form led you to choose the Half Marathon, you’ll continue your journey into the Bourbonnais countryside and neighboring towns: Saint-Pourçain-sur-Besbre, Dompierre-sur-Besbre or Thiel-sur-Acolin.

After the race, take advantage of the proximity to visit the Morvan Regional Park or the town of Vichy to enjoy the thermal waters, sample potato pie local and pumpkin frittersbefore finishing the meal with the famous little white tablet to avoid any remarks about your oral hygiene (just kidding!). 😝
