Barr hosts every November La Landsberg, a trail with three distances: 9 km (350 m elevation gain), 15 km (600 m D+), and 25 km (1000 m D+), on single-track trails in the great outdoors. The courses change each season and weave through vineyards, forests, and sites such as the Saint-Odile pagan wall or the ruins of Spesbourg. Get ready for majestic landscapes and a picturesque overview of the Pays de Barr, near Bas-Rhin.

This little-known village in the Bas-Rhin in the Grand Est region is a true cozy nook, still away from the tourists but absolutely worth discovering. Good news, Barr is hosting its annual trail: the Landsberg in November. The temperatures will be low, near freezing at worst with even a chance of rain, but you’ll see, it will be quickly forgotten! ❄️
So, which distances are we running? On your trail in the Pays de Barr: “ the Petit” in 9 km but with a total elevation gain of 350m D+, “ the Moyen ” and its 15 km with a 600m D+ and finally “ the Grand ” which features a 1000m D+ over 25 km. Ready to go run like a BarrBarr? 😂
Landsberg is a special race with its routes on trails and many single-track paths through nature. Each season, the organizers craft a fresh route that will delight Finishers at the heart of Pays de Barr. These routes will take you through vineyards, forests, and local heritage, such as the mur païen of Saint-Odile 🌿. And since your course has a bit of elevation, you’ll have the chance to admire some breathtaking viewpoints 👀! As for discoveries, after forest trail sections, the medieval ruins of Spesbourg and the Landsberg Castle will leave you speechless. 🏰
Once you’ve completed your challenge, explore the town of Barr; no, you haven’t seen it all yet! Its preserved historic center is a wonder, as are its half-timbered houses. Nestled at the foot of the Vosges, it’s a peaceful haven, still discreet, where you feel at home. For wine lovers, it’s a land ripe for a great harvest, enjoy a grand cru Kirchberg de Barr 🍷, you’ll be in for a treat (moderation 😉). And moreover, to accompany it, go for a onion tart or some asparagus, your taste buds will love Bas-Rhin!
