Trail du Berger

Craving a sports challenge that blends personal growth with stunning scenery? 🌄 Then the Trail du Berger is waiting for you to hit its trails in its beautiful region of Occitanie. On the program, two timed trails are offered: a first of 10 km "Le Petit Tunnel", and a second of 25 km, "Les Innocents". The event will take place in early May, it's the perfect time of year to run with the sun and the spring warmth 💐. About the course, the start as well as the finish 🏁 will be in the town of Aniane 📍. Along your path, you’ll have the chance to pass through charming towns like Gignac and La Boissière 🤓. Don’t forget that the elevation is still quite present, the course goes through hilly paths and trails 📈. So you’ll need to be in top shape with legs of a competitor! 😎

Also save a little energy to admire the view 🔎. The commune of Aniane is full of charm and mainly lets you enjoy the most beautiful landscapes of the Hérault 🖼️. It has a rich cultural heritage by housing, notably the site Natura 2000 Gorges de l’Hérault 🍃. If you’re a wildlife and flora lover this race will surely make you happy ! 🐑 Most of the courses run in the forest, in the great outdoors 🌲. If that’s not enough, we have other activities to offer, for example the Mont Saint-Baudille which offers one of the best panoramas over the plain of the Hérault ! 👀 Or, go refresh your ideas (or legs 😋) at the Lac de Salagou ! 💧 There you can hike as well as enjoy water activities like paddleboarding or kayaking... 🚣‍♀️ And finally, we’d strongly recommend a little detour to the local markets 👩‍🌾. You’ll discover the terroir in all its forms and flavors 👅. It’s the best way to immerse yourself in the region! 🤩

To wrap up the introductions, we still wanted to tell you who’s behind the Trail du Berger! It’s JeCoursToujours à Gignac and its behind-the-scenes hands who work to welcome participants in the best conditions 🫶. Behind this name there is an association that offers running outings running 🏃‍♂️, trail, walking, for leisure or competition 🏅 since 2017. The Trail du Berger is above all a solidarity race, all courses are accessible to people with disabilities 👨🏻‍🦽. The courses are completable in jöelette. It’s a rugged wheelchair, mono-wheel, enabling hiking for anyone with reduced mobility. It can be used with the help of two or four companions 👫. Because even though running is sometimes seen as an individual sport, it’s first and foremost a sport to be shared where everyone needs others to move forward!

Note, this race only welcomes a limited number of participants, with a human-sized event, you can enjoy in the best conditions but you shouldn’t dawdle 🤩.
