Le Semi de Cannes

The French Riviera at the end of winter is a blend of colors to discover, accompanied by the gentle March mood and the approaching spring. The Cannes Half Marathon is a must-attend event; obviously you should mark it on your race calendar in the Alpes-Maritimes. It’s the perfect opportunity to run through some of the city’s iconic spots and feel like a movie star. But don’t get it wrong: you do it in running shoes, not a flipper! 💃

As the crowd-pleaser of the event, the Cannes Half, offers the traditional 21.1 km. If not, two other distances, shorter but equally enjoyable, with a 5 km and a 10 km in Cannes. An event accessible to all, in a friendly vibe—what more could you want?

No hard feelings at the start! The three routes begin at la Pantiero, the city’s central square by the sea. You’ll then run along the world-famous Croisette, where you can channel your inner star for a moment 😎. Next, head to the Boulevard du Midi (depends on the time you pass by 😬). You’ll also have the chance to glimpse the city’s port and the famous Palais des Festivals, where many stars have climbed the stairs. No time for sequins and glitter—the goal is to enjoy this exceptional setting and breathe in the iodine air of the Mediterranean Sea. The course is truly flat and rolling, no need to go to Cannes 👨‍🦯, it’s ideal for testing your limits and challenging the clock.

For post-race, the beaches of the region are perfect for resting and the backcountry offers sublime landscapes. And for a culinary break, the local gastronomy brims with delights of all kinds: tapenade, pissaladière, seafood and, of course, the rosé wine which are musts in the area. If you want some fish, bring your Cannes fishing vibe 🎣.
