Running here is worth gold! You’ll embark on a unique adventure in the capital of the Tricastin, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, a historic region of the Rhône Valley. During the month of November, you’ll discover the soul of a true knight while running near the ancient fortified town of the Drôme provençale ⚔️. The Trail des Truffières will be happy to introduce you to the truffières historical 🍄 as well as the hills of Camel and of Châteaunoir.
There are plenty of options to enjoy the scenery! And the organizers aim to blend the run with conviviality. Thus, on the events of 11.8km, 20.6km, 27.9km, and 48.5km, you can run solo or in a duo, day or night. In the midst of the cultures of truffles of the Tricastin, you’ll run through the Camel Hill, in the plateau of Clansayes and even through the Bois Noir! Get ready to be awestruck by the view offered by the Mont Ventoux! 😲
The Augusta (with two versions: day and night), the Antistia, the Triple C and the Trail des Truffières offer challenges suited to any level. During your long strides, you’ll also cover the Plateau of St Restitut and the chapelle Ste Juste. The old stone quarries, the troglodyte village of BarryRochers des Trois Pigeons, the ruins of Chabrières and the Château de la Croix Chabrières, await to give you more big thrills! This route is mainly single-trace, but you should expect to find on your way some elevation changes ⚠️. It still takes effort to uncover these riches!
The rest of your itinerary is all set and it will go through your stomach! Montélimar isn’t far from the Tricastin capital. You’ll find some delicious nougats to devour 😋 ! Take a break by exploring ancient Roman roads. You’ll pass through the Gouffre de Cabrespine, all this, under the watchful eye of the Pic de Nore. ⛰️
