Curious about the landscape? Get ready to start your effort at the foot of the Mont Salbert then head up the mountain to its metamorphic rocksPrepare your legs because it’s going to start bold indeed, you’re about to climb crescendo for 10 km to the summit of Salbert. Along the earthen paths, you’ll discover the natural, wooded environment of the reliefs 🌿. You’ll tread the paths around the Fort de Salbert which is part of the French military heritage 🇫🇷 , so better stay on your toes 👀. If the weather is kind, La Ronde du Salbert will reward you with a stunning panoramic view of lakes and ponds and the many surrounding forests. Then you’ll descend calmly on single-track trails, on paths, hopefully not too muddy, to reach your Belfort Trail finish. 💧

And since you’re making a day of it, we invite you to explore the wonderful city of Belfort. You’ll come face to face with the MO-NU-MEN-TA-LE sculpture of the Lion of Bartholdi 🦁. Yes, the same artist who carved the Statue of Liberty 🗽 ! Surprising, isn’t it? Then, to keep the momentum, we recommend a stroll along the edge of the grand lac de Malsaucy. And even if Malsaucy makes you think of sauce, other culinary specialties await, like a good potée comtoise or Belflore, both well known in the region. 😋
