In March, head to Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf in the Elbeuvien Country for a road race that passes through Elbeuf-sur-Seine and Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf and runs along the Seine. Participants choose from 5 km, 10 km and a Half Marathon (the 10 km loop done twice), with children’s races and a friendly atmosphere faithful since 1993. After the effort, Rouen comes as a stage, and local gastronomy (duck with Rouen sauce, Mirliton tartlet and cider) completes this popular rendezvous.
Spring is back, time to set yourself a challenge to celebrate the return of sunny days. Head to Normandy, specifically Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf in the Seine-Maritime department. The Boucles du Pays Elbeuvien invites you to discover the surroundings of Rouen. The race takes place in March; it can get a bit chilly in this corner of France, the key is to avoid the rain ☔️.
This is a road race that also passes through Elbeuf-sur-Seine and Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf. In addition to youth races to introduce younger participants to the joys of running, you can choose from 3 distances : a 5 km, a 10 km and a Half Marathon (the 10 km loop completed twice). You’ll have the choice based on your training, preparation, and desired distance for the day 💪.
The courses wind through the streets of Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf before running along the Seine and reaching Place Aristide-Briand. There isn’t only pavement though, because besides the riverbanks you’ll follow (without falling in, of course 😅), you’ll also see beautiful green spaces 🌳. As a cherry on top, the atmosphere is truly welcoming, and this success has continued since 1993 (so that was the last time a French club won the Champions League! Ça date !) ! It’s like the clock, the numbers don’t lie! So enjoy the atmosphere and the locals’ hospitality at this popular event!
After the race, take time to visit Rouen, nicknamed the “Athens of Gothic center” by Stendhal, with highlights including Cathédrale Notre-Dame and the Gros Horloge. If you’re keen to learn more about local gastronomy, duck with its Rouen-style sauce, Mirliton tart, and cider are must-try regional specialties.
