Meet at the Parc naturel régional du Vercors, in La Chapelle-en-Vercors, for the Drayes du Vercors in June. Four races offer varied elevations and sumptuous landscapes: 50 km (2500 mD+) for “Les Drayes”, 28 km (1300 mD+), 20 km (930 mD+), and 11 km (350 mD+), starting from the village. Endurance and technical sections on the program, with panoramas up to the summits of the Vercors.
Meet at the heart 💚 of Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors, and more precisely in the small village of La Chapelle-en-Vercors ⛪ in Drôme, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for the event "Les Drayes du Vercors" 🤓. Since 1994, the organization offers you a getaway in a natural region made of cliffs of calcite 🪨, forests dense 🌲 and vast green meadows 🍃. In the month of June, temperatures will be ideal ☀️ so grab your sunscreen and sunglasses, because you’re going to be wowed 😎.
On the program, 4 great races 🏃, with a joint start from La Chapelle-en-Vercors and its stone houses 🏘️. The star race ⭐ (and the longest, by the way 😅), it’s the trail "Les Drayes" with its 50 km and 2 500 mD+ (impressive right 🫠). Next come "Le Vertaco" and "La Lyrette" which respectively cover 28 km and 1 300 mD+, and 20 km and 930 mD+. Expect beautiful climbs 📈 and technical sections 😬. The last one, "La Réa Bicquet" with its 11 km and 350 mD+ is for those seeking more speed 🚀 or who are discovering trail 👟. Heads up no aid stations planned on this last one! You’ll be entirely self-sufficient so don’t forget your bottle 🍼.
No matter the distance, you’ll be winded at the sight of these sumptuous landscapes! 🤩 But we’ll start gently 😌 with easy trails through vast green expanses 🌿 (perfect for warming up 🏋️), then into a deep and dense forest. Some parts stay technical 👷 and the incline will test you in the climbs 🥵. One more little push, don’t fade, you won’t be disappointed! 💪 A quick stop by the edge of the cliffs 🏔️ and along the crests to reach the summits of the Vercors ⬆️ with the Cols de la Chau (like the famous Philippe 🎬) and Carri (Grant 👨💼). Breathe easy 🌬️ and enjoy the breathtaking panorama that unfolds before you 😮.
You know what they say after effort? The well-deserved treat of course! 💆♂️ What better than the traditional ravioles du Dauphiné 🍽️. These little filled pastas melt in your mouth 🤤. If you add a sauce made from the bleu du Vercors 🧀, powerful and fragrant, you’ll get a true feast ! 😋 In the frenzy of this race ✨, we imagine you didn’t have time to observe the biodiversity of this natural park 🏞️. Return to it! Your patience (and silence) will be rewarded 🏅: tetras-lyre 🐦, marmots, vultures 🦅, chamois and wolves 🐺 will reveal themselves to your eyes.
