The Foulées de la MJC (the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture for the intimate), is the event that shakes up the gray skies of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region with an energy worthy of a rock concert in the open air 🎸. The distances offered are like a good Lyon menu: generous and efficient. We kick off with the 5 km, an “espresso” format for those who love their lungs singing heavy metal by the second kilometer 💨. It’s flat, fast, it’s the realm of the personal best. If you need a bit more time for your muscles to wake up, the 10 km welcomes you. It’s the ideal challenge to test your fundamental endurance while enjoying the riverside scenery. The climb? What climb? We’re talking flat as flat can be 🥞. It’s the perfect place to push watts without fearing the hill that deflates your morale 🎯.

But the Foulées de la MJC, it’s also a family affair and a sharing 😌. Because performance isn’t the sole engine of life, the event shines a light on the non-timed runs 😎. Here, we put away the heart-rate monitor and wear a smile 😃. You can do a 5 km walk or take part in the family run (1 km)! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 The budding champions can also run their own event with a kids’ course (1 km) and a teens’ course (1.5 km) 🌱. We’re here to share a common effort in this unique setting where the Rhône and the Saône give an architectural check. We switch from “elite athlete” mode to “confessed epicurean” mode 😌. Head to the famous Lyon bouchons for an active recovery session featuring chef’s apron fare or pike quenelles. It’s the moment when fat becomes your best ally to rebuild your muscle fibers 😉. If you still have a bit of juice in your legs, a digestivo stroll to the Musée des Confluences is a must. Its crystal and stainless-steel architecture is the perfect spot for your post-race selfie.
