“4 Door Strides.”

In the soft light of September, Rosheim, in the Bas-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region, hosts this road race, also nicknamed "the f4p". In a town steeped in history, come and cross the monumental gates that once protected the city and its medieval walls, then explore the natural heritage that surrounds Rosheim. Organized since 1998 (it’s as old as the first star on the Blues' jersey ! 😮), it’s one of Alsace’s sports events not to miss!

The organizers have thought of everyone and the program will suit you perfectly with its 3 distances : the 5 km, the 10 km as well as the half marathon. Kids’ races are also organized to suit the whole family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. Depending on your distance choice, you’ll pass through the historic center of Rosheim and its surroundings in nature and vines. The 5 km and 10 km focus on Rosheim and its heritage, while the half-marathon route dives into the surrounding countryside. For more details, you can refer to the distance box below 😉.

Running is great. But running in a classic Alsace setting and discovering the picturesque villages of the surroundings, with their history and heritage, is the real pleasure. And yes, stunning viewpoints await you on your route, with panoramas over the Alsace Plain and over the Piedmont of the Vosges, but don’t worry you won’t need to tackle a monstrous elevation to reach these heights 😅. Many portions of your route will run along the city’s greenways, they’ll let you discover Rosheim from its best angle, all in a warm and festive atmosphere 🎉. All routes start in front of the intercommunal gymnasium, which acts as the event’s base camp. Finishes also take place there, after a final 200-meter sprint particularly lively thanks to the camaraderie of the Rosheimois and Rosheimoises who don’t hesitate to clap and cheer on the finishers! 👏

After your race, you’ll be able to enjoy the activities the region has to offer. We can especially point you toward Rosheim’s historic heritage along with some of Alsace’s oldest civil houses, the Roman House! You can also stroll in the surrounding nature, for example by hiking around the Purpurkopf summit near the Ballons Vosges Regional Nature Park. If you’re more urban, no problem—the town is only about thirty kilometers from Strasbourg, with half-timbered houses and standout buildings 🤩. You’ll have plenty to do in the area! But you certainly won’t leave Alsace without tasting local specialties ? Rosheim is also part of the Alsace Wine Route, a mark of fine wines 🍷. So after your efforts, you’ll have earned the famous choucroute served with a glass of Alsatian wine (why not Rosheim? 😉).
