Whistle blows and go ! You’re off to the Creuse, this vast green garden where it’s great to escape for a sportif weekend! And because you love trains 🚅, you won’t be able to resist the temptation of the Rail Races. A nature run nature 🍃 that uses an old railway line 🛤️ connecting Dun-le-Palestel to, at your choice, Saint-Sébastien for the event of 21.1 km, the "Ferroverte", or "Maison-Feyne" for the 10 km race. The "Rail Races" offer you the "corporate half-marathon Challenge". Your team and you will run the 21 km as a 3-person relay. Each participant covers 7 km 🤓. The teams must be made up of a person from the same entity (company, association...). The Rail Races have also prepared a 45 km and not to be underestimated! "La Quai 45" will start at Saint-Sébastien to reach mile after mile Guéret! ⚡

You’ll need the blue warm-up to tackle these super smooth routes, where you’ll relish running by train 🚞. Reworked especially for the event, the old railway line, built in 1886 and definitively closed 1952will offer an ideal course to test your consistency. Volunteers and the Pays Dunois Community of Municipalities are working hard to make the rails accessible again so you can enjoy your race to the max, without hitches 🪨. Your turn to grab the right carriage... 🚃 Or even play locomotive! 🚂 The shaded straightaways, the quirky sections like the one that slips under an aqueductbut also the paths by the old stations will pace your journey. The advantage is you won’t risk getting lost: unless you stray from the (old) rails, you won’t go wrong with the way to go! 😉

Decide whether you’ll cross the finish line (or not) at the arrival 🏁, in Dun-le-Palestel, where you won’t be rewarded with a coal puff (phew !), but with a lovely finishers medal 🏅 of finisher. Because the race director is kind, two billet checks will punctuate the 21.1 km and 4 on the 45 km 🍫 (one only on the 10 km). No reason to run out of fuel! ⛽️ For this year, a village will be set up on the Place du Marché. You’ll find the podium 🏆, of course, a dring but also a stand with tourist information ! 🗺️ Perfect if you’re unsure how to finish your weekend!

Once you arrive at Dun-le-Palestel, you can explore the surroundings: medieval ruins 🏰 in the small town of about a thousand residents, a village of artists from Fresselines 🎨, lake of la Cazine for fishing, Chaume pond 💧... Yes, the Creuse is definitely a nature destination where it’s nice to take the less-traveled paths! 🧙‍♀️
