Les lumières de la Muzelle

Formerly called the Night Snow Trail, the Lights of the Muzelle offers you a ballet of lights💡. Yes, it’s a completely night-time competition! 🌙 You know what you’re thinking. "But then, why is the race named this?" 😅. Well, it’s simple: "the Muzelle" is a peak of the Écrins Massif, standing at 3,465 meters above sea level.altitude. Then, "the lights" refer to the sunset at the start 🌄, the illuminated villages, and hundreds of small headlamps in a single file along one of the four night-time white trails offered to you 🌌. So grab your glow-stick, warm clothes, and a mug of coffee ☕, because we’re taking you to the station Des Deux Alpes, located in Isère, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in the heart of the mountain range of the same name, for an exceptional competition 🌲❄.

Are you a thrill-seeker? Do you love the trail, the nature, the snow, the cold, the night, and the marathons? Bingo, you’ve hit the jackpot! 🎁 The Lights of the Muzelle is a unique competition that brings together all these criteria, and much more! But first, let’s talk about the races. As mentioned above, there are 4: an 11 km race (275 m ascent), a 16 km race (500 m D+), a 21 km race (750 m D+) and a 42 km race (1650 m D+). You’ll notice these distances aren’t chosen at random... there’s something for every taste and all levels, from beginner to expert who loves ultra-trails and ferocious slopes 🏃‍♂️📈.

But these distances aren’t inherently special on their own. What makes them so remarkable is the setting in which they take place... the Alps! 😍 Europe’s most famous mountain range offers its glaciers 🧊, its peaks, and its finest resorts to sports and nature lovers. It’s in the resort Des Deux Alpes, nestled between 1,650 and 3,600 meters above sea level, that the start line lies, and more precisely at the Troika Chalet at 2100 m high ✨.
