Le Limhamn Backyard Ultra met les coureurs au défi sur une boucle classique de 6,7 km à travers le parc Hammars, avec une vue imprenable sur le pont de l'Öresund et son littoral saisissant. Fidèle au format Backyard Ultra, les athlètes prennent le départ toutes les heures, à l'heure pile, et courent contre la montre pour boucler la boucle en moins de 60 minutes. La compétition se poursuit jusqu'à ce qu'il ne reste plus qu'un seul coureur, ou jusqu'à ce que 24 boucles aient été bouclées, avec une épreuve finale si plusieurs concurrents restent en lice.
L'événement se déroule au Limhamns IP, où les participants peuvent se ravitailler en nourriture, fruits et boissons tout au long de la journée. Les installations comprennent des vestiaires, des aires de repos et un espace pour les tentes, créant ainsi une atmosphère de camp de base accueillante. Le Mini-Backyard pour les enfants est un point fort particulier, offrant une boucle de 1,5 km afin que les plus jeunes coureurs puissent également participer à l'expérience.
