At the very start of June, how about a final stop in the south to start your summer holidays in style ☀️? Drop your bags 🧳 in Port-Vendres, more precisely at the Tour Madeloc, for a race, let’s say 🤔, unlike any other: the MadSale ! In this coastal town 🏖️ located at the Southeast tip of the Pyrenees-Orientales 🧭, you’ll get to experience a race like no other in its own right, all under pleasantly warm Occitanie temperatures. 🌡️

On the program, 2 distances: 13km and 7km. Yes, you read that right, two great distances to push your limits 💪🏼. Indeed, and not by a little. In addition to a positive elevation gain of 240 meters 📈, it’s especially its format original that makes this race a difficult challenge 😈. To put it simply, it’s a knockout-style race: several waves 🌊 (but not the ones in the Mediterranean) will be organized, and at the end of each, only the half of the runners will qualify for the next wave. If you want to come out on top of this race, you’ll need to face four successive waves, from the round of 16 to the grand final 💪. And for those eliminated before the final, the small final will come to comfort you 🥹. You’ve probably guessed it, this isn’t a mother-in-law stroll waiting for you! This format short and very intense will demandgood physical condition and excellent effort management, to avoid ending crushed on the first rise… 🥵

Okay, it may be a bit tough to admire the landscape surrounding you with the intense effort ahead 🏞️. But still, it’s worth the detour! In the heart of the Massif des Albères 🏔️, you’ll climb up to the Tour Madeloc, perched at about 650 meters above sea level. Mind the vertigo, so! Don’t worry, you’ll have your feet on the ground throughout your race, and a absolutely stunning view of the city in the valley

After your intense race, a bit of rest is in order 😮‍💨. You can then stroll leisurely around Collioure or Argelès-sur-Mer to enjoy the Mediterranean coastline 😎. For specialty roussillonnaises, try the anchovies, the boles de picolat or even the rousquilles to end on a sweet note 😋.
