La course/marche de 5 km pour l'éducation de Malverne est organisée par la Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation afin de soutenir les programmes destinés aux jeunes dans le district scolaire de Malverne. L'événement comprend une course ludique pour les enfants âgés de 10 ans et moins, suivie de la course/marche principale. Les deux événements débutent à proximité des écoles locales et se terminent derrière le lycée Malverne High School. Des récompenses sont remises aux meilleurs coureurs masculins et féminins, aux meilleurs coureurs de différentes tranches d'âge et aux participants des divisions handicapés physiques et fauteuils roulants. Tous les participants à la course ludique pour enfants reçoivent une médaille de finisseur. Un parking est disponible à proximité du lycée.
