Le Maplewood Mile 5K est une course communautaire organisée dans le parc Maplewood, sur un parcours principalement plat et pittoresque, le long de chemins pavés et gravelés bordés d'arbres matures et d'un étang. Ouvert aux coureurs de tous niveaux, y compris aux familles et aux participants avec poussettes, l'événement offre une médaille à tous les participants, des récompenses aux meilleurs coureurs et un prix spécial pour le meilleur costume sur le thème des arbres. D'autres activités sont également proposées, notamment une course ludique pour les enfants, des collations après la course, des activités pour les enfants et un village de food trucks. Les bénéfices sont reversés au Maplewood Urban Tree Fund pour la plantation d'arbres et l'éducation à l'environnement. Des toilettes et un parking accessibles sont mis à disposition.
