Run to the top of Denmark at the Skagen Marathon, a fall race held in October at the northernmost tip of the Jutland peninsula. Run to the top of Denmark! The Skagen Marathon is a unique autumn race at the northernmost tip of the Jutland peninsula. Held in October, it offers distances from the marathon (42 km) and the 30 km, to the half marathon, up to the fast 10 km and 5 km 🏃. The varied course blends asphalt, forest trails and sandy dunes as well as beaches, and passes through the charming yellow streets of the town of Skagen, the heaths and the picturesque heath and pine forests (Skagen Klitplantage).

For a stroll: Head to the tip Grenen – where the waves of two seas meet: the Kattegat and the Skagerrak. Standing with one foot in one sea and the other in the other is a must 🌊.
With the family: Discover Den Tilsandede Kirke (the Sand-Filled Church) from the 14th century, whose white tower is the only part now peeking out of the sands. Also visit the Skagens Museum to admire the famous paintings of late 19th and early 20th century artists, fascinated by the light here 🎨.
For a day trip: Go to Råbjerg Mile – the largest mobile dune in Northern Europe, which feels like a real desert in the heart of Scandinavia 🏜️.
In the plate: At the port fry shacks, order a buttered shrimp open sandwich (Stjerneskud) or roasted cod served with freshly caught fried herring. For dessert, try Danish pastries at a local bakery 🐟.
