Headed to Switzerland, to Interlaken for the vertigo-inducing experience of the Jungfrau Marathon 🇨🇭. You’ll run through the Jungfrau region, in the Jungfrau, in the foothills of the Bernese Oberland, at the foot of the Swiss Alps 🏔️. We won’t lie to you: the scenery will feel unreal. Between majestic peaks, green alpine pastures and villages worthy of a Ricola ad, it’s a total immersion in the cartoon Heidi 😍.

You’re already buzzing for this extraordinary race 🤩. At the same time, running in the heart of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn natural site, listed as UNESCO World Heritage, is the kind of motivation that works 🔥. But before you fire up those quads, a quick dive into history 🕰️. This epic event was dreamt up by a certain Heinz Schild founder of the Bern Grand Prix who imagined it. In 1993, the director of the Jungfrau Railway suggested Heinz create a race for the line’s 100th anniversary 🚞. He agreed and launched his mountain marathon idea from Interlaken. And boom, in September of that same year, 1 500 runners with positive elevation took off in the snow ❄️. That first edition even earned a twin pairing with the Mount Fuji race in Japan, nothing but that 🇯🇵. Since then, the Jungfrau Marathon has earned its place among the world’s most famous mountain marathons, attracting more and more runners… Including you this year 🫵.

On the course, get ready for a festival of cramps landscapes 🏞️. You’ll start from the center of Interlaken and run along the Brienz Lake to Bönigen, at 597 meters above sea level. At the 10th kilometer, things get serious. The climb begins at Wilderswil, toward Zweilütschinenthen Lauterbrunnen. And here’s a friend’s tip: eat a bite and take a breather, because between km 20 and the finish line, you’ll face 1 043 mD+ 📈. We guarantee your calves will shout louder than a singer of Yodel after three schnaps 🤣. You’ll pass by the Staubbach Fallsand along the legendary Lauberhorn ski runmoraines, lift your eyes to the Mönch, the Jungfrau,… up to the summit of the Eigergletscher, at 2 320 meters above sea level. It’s almost a Jung game, right? 😅 And if you’re not ready to play with the elite mountain runners yet, don’t panic 🧘. You can warm up with the "Harder Run Race", a quick 4.4 km and 755 mD+, or have fun with the "Minimarathon" : 4.2195 km non-scored and open to all levels. And this year, as a bonus, the marathon collaborates with PluSport, a Swiss disability sport center 🤝. Schedule includes: a Para sprint of 200 m and an inclusive adoption of disability across all events, because the beauty of sport is inclusion 🫶. Kids’ races will also be offered 👶.

Once you reach the summit, you have two missions 2️⃣. First, recover, recharge, and regain your senses 🥵. Then you can descend by cable car toward Grindelwald. There, you’ll enjoy a pasta partymassage… And a well-deserved shower 🚿. And you didn’t come to Switzerland just for a round trip. Once on site, treat yourself to some rest in Lauterbrunnen, an idyllic village straight out of a fairy tale 🧚. Imagine watching one of Switzerland’s tallest waterfalls
