Marathon de l'Ardèche

And on the Ardèche Marathon, you won’t be coasting or backing down! For the grand start of a non-traditional course, head to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, more precisely to the Voulte-sur-Rhône. This marathon will test your legs and challenge the quality of your ankles. 👟 You’ll traverse town and nature without ever bowing, through the streets of the loveliest villages cradled by their rivers, while enjoying the greenery of the landscape. And since you’re a lucky athlete, September is very favorable in the region, bringing mild temperatures (usually between 13 and 24°C) to close a sunny summer. ☀️

Even though a marathon isn’t always a walk in the park and you’re seasoned enough to watch where you put your feet, don’t forget to soak in the views as you run. 👀 The Ardèche Marathon follows the Valley of the Eyrieux and its pristine natural scenery that makes the area so beautiful. The sparkling sound of running water will accompany you all the way to the Dolce Via, an old departmental railway line offering a unique feature for this kind of event. 🚆 Even the New York Marathon is said to envy us! Your finish will take place at the Eyrium Water Base, next to Lake des Collanges. If you’d like, you can at the end of your race show us how well you swim.

Warmth and camaraderie are the watchwords of this race, so don’t forget to flash your best smile even when you hit the 30th kilometer wall, it’s a tough moment to get through before charging toward the finish line! 🏁 If that pace is too much for you, or if you enjoy sharing (don’t worry, we don’t judge 😉), you can split your course with one or more friends in two- and four-person relay versions.

This leg through Ardèche isn’t just about running; it’s also about gastronomy. You’ll have the chance to discover or rediscover Picodon, the fabulous goat cheese typical of the region, as well as all types of chestnut-based products (on your plate, chestnuts, no fighting!) 🌰
