Saint-Dizier, in Haute-Marne, hosts in June the Lac du Der Lake Marathon, a 42.195 km course around Lac du Der, starting from the town center and ending at the port of the seaside town of Giffaumont-Champaubert. Offered by the CAPDER association since 2013, this marathon is run solo, in pairs, or in a quartet and crosses dikes, woods and forests, offering unique landscapes and a friendly atmosphere. The event provides dedicated services and remains accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
One of the largest artificial lakes in France is ready to welcome you to Saint-Dizier, in Haute-Marne, in the Grand Est region. It’s an exceptional marathon on offer during June 😎 by the association CAPDER. Despite a few last rains before summer 🌦️, you’ll wander through a historic town with its ramparts and its unique heritage 🙌🏼.
Organized for the first time in 2013, the Der Lake Marathon offers you 42,195 km to run in solo, in duo 🔗, or even in a quartet! 🤝🏻 The course will start from the city center of Saint-Dizier, opposite Parc du Jard before crossing the canal dykes that will take you to Lake Der. You’ll circumnavigate it along its dyke to the finish line 🏁, at the port of the seaside town of Giffaumont-Champaubert, very close to the casino 🎰. A rolling marathon crossing woods 🪵 and forests 🌲 on the lake's dykes, you might be treated to the sight of cranes, the symbol of the Der Lake. The highlight? You’ll discover unique and stunning landscapes in the heart of the town ❤️. This race is accessible to everyone, young and old, and also to people with disabilities 🦼. As they say, the more the merrier! 😄
A warm and friendly event, the Der Marathon, as it’s sometimes called, also offers several services for runners, and even a bottle of champagne at the finish 🍾. Get ready to have the rhythm in your skin in addition to staying on track during your race 🎶. After a vigorous start, your muscles will keep warming up 🔥 with the tunes played by the bands along the course 🥁. You’ll even feel wings forming thanks to the shouts from supporters ready to give it their all to cheer you on 🗣️. If you fancy a sweet break, you’ll taste the Madeleines de Commercy, or Wassy boxes which are local meringues 😋.
