The Pinkest of the Pink Cities ! Toulouse? Nope, Montauban! 🌷

Ville d’Ingres and d’Olympe de Gouges, Montauban is the jewel of Tarn-et-Garonne. When the sunny days return, the marathon becomes one of the highlights of the running season in Occitanie. In March, as nature wakes up and temperatures are mild, the event is an accessible date for all levels since several distances will be offered 😉.

The Montauban Marathon celebrates Tarn-et-Garonne, a hilly region. So if you want to smash your best time, this isn’t the spot to chase a blazing PR because the course isn’t flat enough to make the clock jump. That’s exactly what this race offers, where you can choose among 3 distances : marathon (you can even do it in a relay), half, and 10km 🏃.

To start exploring the city, you’ll run from the Cours Foucault, a park crowned by a World War I memorial designed by the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, a native of the city. The marathon is the chance to cross many waterways such as the Petit and the Grand Mortarieu, the Tescou and, of course, the Tarn on the eastern side of town, along the île de la Pissotte and by the Pont Vieux with its 7 arches ogivales dating from the XIVe 14th century. Each stride is a new adventure. See the grand entrance adorned with a warrior? You’ll sweep past the Lefranc de Pompignan hotel! Do you inhale those authentic scents? You’ll drop onto the national square with its red-brick monuments and the local market. And those subtle floral fragrances? You’ll pass by the Jardin des Plantes! 🌳

And above all, don’t get distracted by the sugary delicacy scents! The Montauban boulets 🌰, those roasted hazelnuts coated in dark chocolate that celebrate the city’s resistance during the king’s siege in the XVIIth century, saved for after the race!
