Generali Genève Marathon

So in the month of May you’ll need to unleash your punctuality. The Generali Genève Marathon will take place in the very heart of Genève. Located to the west of the Switzerland 🇨🇭, this city nestled between lake 🛶 and mountains, Genève also offers a stunning view of the Lac Léman 🐟, surrounded by the Alps and the Jura, Genève also offers a magnificent view of the Mont Blanc. For an outdoor sports lover like you, there’s no better setting! 🤩 As for the weather, be prepared for all configurations: during this time of year temperatures rise 🌡️ but watch out for rain ☔️, which is fairly common before summer 😬.

Before you dash off to the start line, how about a description of the courses? You’ll see, there’s something for everyone, and that’s what makes this event so strong 💪. Accessible to young people 🧒 and to the oldest 👴, beginners as well as seasoned Finishers, but also inclusive for persons with disabilities 🦽, inclusion and diversity. These are the guiding principles of this event 🙌. But back to the program: as you’re a real Swiss Army knife 🔪, we’re sure you’ll adapt perfectly to the planned distances and find the shoe on your foot for your wristwatch. Of course, the crown event 👸 is very much present: you can run the marathon in solo or in relay 🤝. But Swiss neutrality obliges, so we want to keep all distances on equal footing ⚖️. So if you’d rather pace yourself before tackling your first marathon, you can challenge yourself on the half-marathon of Genève, also accessible to people with disabilities. Want to beat the clocks? ⏱ Then try the 10 km, which is also open to walkers 🚶🏻‍♂️. And for a truly all-ages event, a 5 km race to cap off this program in spectacular fashion 🤩.

Know this, the Geneva Marathon is a story of timekeeping. Here, we don’t have time to waste ! 🥵 Thanks to its rolling course, it is indeed one of the fastest marathons in Switzerland ⚡️. In every edition, more than half of runners beat their personal best 🏅. And if it’s your turn this year? Despite your speed on this record-prone course, you’ll still have time to admire the beauty of the route, weaving together city and nature 🍃. The first part of the race will take you along country roads, between the fields 🌾 and among the vineyards 🍇, through the villages around Genève. After so many minutes of effort, you’ll begin the second part of the course in style, in the heart of Genève. You’ll run along the Lac Léman enjoying a breathtaking view of the Alpine peaks and you’ll finally deliver your best final sprint, on the Pont du Mont-Blanc 🌉, and all this against the backdrop of the famous Jet d’Eau 💦. Before that, you can also admire the famed Parc la Grange 🌳, located by the lake: the largest park in the city and a classified historic monument, it houses the imposing Villa la Grange 🤯. Don’t hesitate to swing by after your race to relax and admire it up close! And if you opt for the longer distances, you’ll even be lucky enough to glimpse the Brunswick Monument 🏛️. Dating back to the 19th century, this mausoleum was erected in honor of Charles II, Duke of Brunswick, after his death. You can trust us, you won’t waste your time on the Geneva Marathon !

After clocking the miles, you’ll surely need some rest 💤. Our tip: a good night’s sleep (why not set the alarm?), and you’ll be back on your feet to enjoy the sweet Geneva lifestyle 😌. A true time machine, this museum houses exceptional pieces embodying Swiss know-how built over centuries of work. You can also stroll through the Jardin Anglais and admire its famous flower clock 🌼, or relax around the Geneva Lakefront. And if you still have energy, why not visit the old town and the Saint Peter’s Cathedral of Geneva ? It offers a breathtaking view of the city, but you know it—it's earned.
