Finishers invites you this time to a unique adventure in Morocco's spiritual city: Fez! ⭐ This ancient city is preparing to host the next edition of the Fez Spiritual Marathon 👑. And yes, this is indeed a marathon, THE legendary race of 42 km that weaves through lively streets and stunning landscapes of Fez 🙌. But for runners craving a more accessible challenge, no worries—the event also offers a half marathon, a mid-point option with 21 km! 🍐 But if you need to cut kilometers even more, the 10 km race will be perfect for you! 🔥
To dive into the city’s fascinating history, here’s an essential anecdote: Fez was founded under the reign of Idris I 🤴. According to legend, foundations were dug with a golden and silver pick 💎, giving the city its name since “Fez” means pickaxe in Arabic ⛏️. It’s a beautiful way to imagine the origins of this magical city 🌟. In any case, its magic has spread to produce championship runners! 🏃♂️ Abderrahime Bouramdane is a top-level runner from Fez. He made a splash by beating his personal record at the London Marathon in 2h07'33 ! 👏 It’s not his only achievement—he also competed at the World Championships in Athletics in 2011 in Daegu, where he earned 4th place ! 🏅
